Terms of Use
Welcome to Singles Events. These Terms of Use ("Agreement") are between you and AES LLC ("us", "we", "Singles Events"). By creating an account, whether through a mobile device or computer (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by (i) this Agreement, (ii) our Privacy Policy, and (iii) any additional terms disclosed to you if you purchase optional features. If you don't agree to all of these terms, please don't use the Service.
We may update this Agreement from time to time, including to reflect changes in the law, new features, or business practices. The most recent version will always be posted on this page. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll try to notify you at least 30 days in advance through the Service or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Agreement.
1. Eligibility
You may not create an account or use the Service unless all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are able to form a legally binding contract with us.
- You are not barred from using the Service under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction.
- You will comply with this Agreement and all applicable local, state, national and international laws.
- You have not been convicted of a felony, a sex crime, or a crime involving violence, and are not required to register as a sex offender.
2. Your account
You may sign in using a phone number, email, or a supported third-party login. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us immediately through our contact page.
3. Modifying or ending the Service
We're always working to improve Singles Events, which means we may add, change, or remove features over time. If a change doesn't materially affect your rights, we may make it without prior notice. You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate an account without notice if we believe this Agreement has been violated; in that case, purchased features are not refunded.
4. Safety and your interactions with other members
We use profile verification and moderation to encourage a respectful experience, but we are not responsible for the conduct of members on or off the Service. Use caution in every interaction, particularly if you decide to communicate off-platform or meet in person, and never send money, gift cards, or financial information to someone you've met through the Service.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members. We do not run criminal background checks on members and make no representations about any member's conduct or compatibility with you.
5. Rights we grant you
We grant you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. This license is automatically revoked if you:
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written consent.
- Copy, scrape, or reproduce content, trademarks, or other proprietary material from the Service without permission.
- Use bots, crawlers, or similar tools to access, index, or data-mine the Service.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to compromise the security of the Service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.
- Access or publish our application programming interface without written consent.
6. Rights you grant us
By posting content — photos, bio text, messages, or anything else you share on the Service ("Content") — you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that Content as needed to operate and improve the Service. You confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to post the Content you share.
We may review or remove Content that, in our judgment, violates this Agreement or could harm the Service or its members.
7. Community rules
By using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- Use the Service for any illegal or harmful purpose.
- Impersonate any person, or post images of someone without their permission.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or defame any person.
- Post hate speech, sexually explicit material, or content that incites violence.
- Spam, solicit money from, or attempt to defraud any member.
- Maintain more than one account, or create a new account after we've closed a prior one without our permission.
Violating these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account, without a refund of any purchases.
8. Other members' content
Content posted by other members is their sole responsibility, and we can't guarantee that all Content complies with this Agreement. If you see Content that violates these rules, please report it through the Service or our contact page.
9. Purchases and optional features
Core features of Singles Events — creating a profile, browsing, and messaging — are free. Where we offer optional paid features or subscriptions, pricing will be clearly displayed before purchase. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until cancelled; you can manage or cancel a subscription from your account settings, or through the relevant app store if that's how you subscribed. Purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by law or as otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
10. Copyright complaints
If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on the Service without authorization, please send a takedown request through our contact page, including a description of the work, its location on the Service, your contact details, and a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized. We will act on valid notices and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ITS AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, OR ACCURACY. YOU USE THE SERVICE, AND ANY CONTENT YOU ACCESS THROUGH IT, AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AES LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, OR USD 100.
13. Dispute resolution
Except where prohibited by applicable law (including for residents of the EU/EEA, who may bring claims in their country of residence), any dispute arising out of this Agreement will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, and you agree not to bring or participate in a class action against us. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where the claim qualifies.
14. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which AES LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your Content, or your breach of this Agreement.
16. Entire agreement
This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any part of it is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Your account is non-transferable, and this Agreement does not create any partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and us.
